• The MAGNUM DERABALL was developed exclusively at our request. Gael Even and Thomas Vogels successfully convinced the Japanese company JACKALL of the strong potential of this new, larger format. ILLEX is therefore proud to introduce this XL version of the DERABALL. With over 20% more size and volume, the MAGNUM DERABALL retains all the key characteristics that made this lure concept so popular. It is a hybrid soft lure, positioned between a crankbait and a shad, and best described as a soft swimbait. Its realistic profile mimics a wide range of prey, including amphibians, small baitfish and even rodents. Thanks to its compact yet high-density body, this lure casts effortlessly over long distances and can be skipped with impressive ease beneath overhanging cover. On a simple steady retrieve, it delivers a tight, enticing swimming action that triggers aggressive strikes from predators holding in shallow water, under vegetation, along banks, near submerged timber, weed beds, lily pads or rocky structures. Originally designed for shallow fishing, it can easily be adapted for deeper presentations by adding a free-sliding tungsten weight. The Line Thru rigging system allows the leader to pass directly through the lure, enabling it to slide up the line during the fight and reducing leverage. The clever hook setup features a high-quality reinforced treble hook, secured with two tied-in antennas for perfect positioning, mounted on a swivel that allows full 360° rotation. This significantly minimizes the risk of fish coming unhooked. This XL version of the DERABALL delivers everything that made the original so effective… only bigger. A larger silhouette, stronger vibrations and increased water displacement make it irresistible to big predators such as pike, black bass, large perch and catfish.
